SIS integration and campus sign-in

Course-based access only works if the roster is current. Avio takes a nightly feed from your student information system and signs people in with their campus account.

A nightly roster feed from your SIS

Your student information system exports people, enrollments, and terms as CSV. The files arrive nightly over SFTP, or an administrator uploads them. Any SIS that can produce a CSV export works, whichever vendor runs your registrar.

  • People, enrollments, and terms as separate CSV files
  • Nightly delivery over SFTP, or manual upload
  • Columns matched to Avio fields once, during setup

Checks before anything is written

Each import is compared with the last one. If a feed suddenly drops a large share of students or enrollments, the removals are held for an administrator to review instead of revoking access overnight.

  • Suspicious roster drops held for review
  • A summary of every import: people, enrollments, removals
  • Course-based access rules update from the latest successful import

Campus single sign-on

Students and staff sign in with their campus account. Avio connects to SAML 2.0 identity providers and matches each person to their roster record by campus ID at sign-in.

  • SAML 2.0 identity providers such as Shibboleth, Microsoft Entra ID, and Okta
  • Google sign-in for campuses on Google Workspace
  • Roster match by campus ID, not only by email
